Aawahaan
“सामाजिक परिवर्तनका लागि कार्यशील अभियान” — An active campaign for social change
A municipal campaign for social change — bringing local government, business and community together around cleanliness, greenery and the role each stakeholder plays in developing their own town.

About this project
Aawahaan sits municipalities, chambers of commerce and local communities around one table to plan for a cleaner, greener town. Rather than delivering a service into a community, the campaign works on the question of who is responsible for what — making the role of each stakeholder in municipal development explicit, and motivating them to act on it.
The campaign runs on a shared-cost model. The Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development communicates the campaign to municipalities across Nepal; each participating municipality contributes NPR 80,000; and the remaining funds are managed by YONSED and FNCCI. Enriched Nepal implements campaign activities on the ground and maintains the e-database of local entrepreneurs.
